Reiki Questions
To Symbolize or not has always been the big question in Reiki Healing.
Many students are taught to use symbols when healing, however symbols were never designed for anything but the ritualistic attunement. By using symbols in healing sessions, there is the likelihood of the client experiencing a detoxification. Using symbols in healing has led many people to dislike Reiki because they often feel worse after the treatment.
Ritualistic use of Symbols in Reiki means some clients dislike and disapprove of the waving of hands above their heads and body in Reiki. Most times the demonstration of ritualistic movement usually sends logical and sensible people into questioning the validity of such a treatment. The truth is, Reiki was never meant to have public displays rather Reiki has always been a discreet healing process, done with integrity and simplicity. Reiki is not a performance and never was.
Detoxification in Reiki
Once initiated into Reiki there is a detoxification period. This detoxification lasts for 21 days and can be mild to extreme as each chakra is cleansed. The severity depends whether the student has outstanding emotional and mental issues. Has drunk alcohol, taken recreational drugs, ate the wrong foods or smoked before the attunement.
These substances create a reaction where the detoxification tends to be worse. Using symbols in healing when someone who has consumed alcohol or taken drugs may well result in a massive detoxification, which can make a person, react badly.
Sensible Lifestyle Plans for Reiki
Reiki tutors advise self-administration and follow the Reiki principles as much as possible after a Reiki attunement. Once someone is undergoing Reiki the advice is to reduce or stop addictions, drink lots of water, eat wisely and do moderate exercise which all helps to balance the body, mind and soul. Rarely is there a massive detoxification if the student has undergone intensive preparation beforehand. The desire to take care of the body naturally occurs as the student progresses through each level. Or the client undergoes around six sessions of Reiki healing.
No Harsh Manipulationin Reiki
Reiki can be performed without touch and diagnosis is limited, if not non-existent. Touching is not always necessary for Reiki to work, as Reiki can be administered just a few inches away from the body, or even at great distances. However most people feel reassured by being touched. In a full therapy session the therapist works down the body starting with the head, spending approximately 1 to 5 minutes in each position. However the therapist may choose to work entirely in the chakra points. These are based in the crown, throat, heart, solar plexus, navel, and base. Or the Reiki therapist may do an overall healing, often being guided to areas that require healing or balancing.
Reiki as a Healing Therapy Session
Reiki can take up to an hour and is considered a wonderful adjunct to other complementary therapies and healing such as Seichem and Spiritual healing. The very reason many people like this form of therapy is the fact the recipient remains fully clothed, are usually wrapped snug in a soft blanket and nurtured. Not everyone is confident enough about self-image to undress and not everyone wants therapy where he or she has to participate. Reiki then becomes a relaxing therapy, rather than a workout.
Yin and Yang Reiki Healing Energy
Up to a hundred years ago healing was the domain of men. Women were considered to weak and emotional to do healing on others. However times have changed radically and many Reiki tutors are using another form of healing called Seichem, Sekem or Seichim. This energy tends towards a nurturing healing therapy and is indeed wonderful for critical and chronic illness.
Female healing usually comes within the realms of nursing, death and birth. However this attitude has changed and all serious healers recognize that healing has to be balanced with both yin and yang energies to be successful.
The Elements of Reiki and Seichem
Reiki is a masculine energy with the earth element and is a female energy (mother earth). For true balance all elements need to be in the healing process, and with this in mind Seichem energy because of the four elements of air, fire and water boosts Reiki magnificently to the higher realms of healing.
One without the other is like the earth without the sun, a parent without child and a home without a heart. In many professional training establishments a student working predominately in yin or yang energy would fail. The student would need to show their ability to dance elegantly through both as and when needed.
