When I met Sylvia I was suffering with horrific eating disorders, which was destroying me mentally, emotionally and physically. My family were also in huge turmoil. I had been a patient at an eating disorder clinic from the age of 15. I had started and quit five different college courses, I couldn't hold down a job, I couldn't socialise and I couldn't bear myself. I was also self-harming and abusing alcohol. I was violent. I had years of Counselling, but unfortunately I was still getting worse. I was beginning to feel I would never get better. Happiness, health, love, peace, a meaningful life, was all impossibilities for me.
Then I met Sylvia. I had no expectations when I went to my first appointment as I’d tried so many things already. But she understood. Sylvia knew what was wrong. She knew that the problem was internally and emotionally and she treated me with respect, as a human being, that deserved to get well, and who had the complete ability to do this.
I was very broken at my first appointment and yet I left with hope. I continued the sessions with Sylvia and slowly I started to change. I changed from the inside first. I was completely honest in my sessions, as I knew I would be taken seriously and that I could completely trust Sylvia. After a long road of recovery, which I am committed, even when I wanted to run from myself. I started to learn Reiki with Sylvia. I am now Reiki 3. I completed a Year long course at college and was nominated for student of the year on a Beauty course. I found a job and worked hard, I made friends, did voluntary work and the relationship with my family healed; they no longer need to worry.
I now live with my boyfriend of 7 years in our own house and I'm studying for a Degree in Fine Art. I am passionate about it and love every moment. I had to put the work in, with Sylvia and take each step at a time, but Sylvia has helped me beyond words. She has the patience of a saint and a fabulous sense of humour. She sees each client as an individual but shows the same principles of unconditional love and kindness to everyone. I have had the pleasure of working on clients with her when I was doing my Reiki training. And she is spot on with her intuitions. People tend to get to the point in her sessions. Sylvia creates an atmosphere that is calm and safe in which to deal with emotions that can feel chaotic and dangerous so that people can heal.
